Long, long, long overdue is my introduction of my new beautiful niece,
Miss Skye Lynn.
Our first meeting with her was delayed thanks to all of the sickness that struck our house awhile back, but once the kids and I were healthy we were able to go down for a few days to visit my sister and her husband and meet this precious little bundle of joy and love!
Skye was born February 17th at a teeny 6lbs. 4oz. and 18 inches long (I can't find my note with this info, so this is from memory and may be a bit off). She and her mommy (my gorgeous sister) had a healthy c-section birth and were happy to leave the hospital as soon as they hit their 48th hour. I can't believe today marks Skye's 1 month birthday!
When the kids and I went to visit Michelle (my sister) was so sweet to Miss Em and let her hold and feed Skye right off the bat! Miss Em was SO incredibly excited and proud to take care of her little cousin Skye and I was amazed at what a great job she did. Quite the little mommy my girl is. :)
**For those who may not know and are wondering, my sister is Korean and was adopted long before I was ever thought about. A post about my family may be in order soon...**
Miss Em became the all-time feeder while during our visit when Skye wasn't nursing.
It was so great to see the joy and peace that radiated from Michelle and Jim (her husband) as they so obviously adored their little girl. The love that shone from Jim's eyes as he held Skye was a sight to behold (I can't believe I didn't get any pictures of him).
Michelle looked fantastic and was recovering from her c-section really well. She wouldn't sit for much of anything and made the kids and I incredible whole-grain pancakes with berries and spinach and cheese omelets for brunch two days in a row! I wanted to be of help to her, but other than run a couple of errands for her, it seemed there wasn't much I could do that wasn't already taken care of.
The kids had SO much fun with their Auntie Michelle and Uncle Jim. McGee loved watching Thomas the Train that they hooked up on their tv from their "On Demand" Netflix library. It was a wonderful time spent with my sister and I hope we'll get to visit again soon! These pictures all looked great in color as well, but I preferred the black and white because of the timeless quality I think it gives them.
Happy 1 Month my Precious Niece!
