Wowsers!

I can't believe it! I just logged in to see what I've been missing in the blogosphere tonight and found out I won not one, but TWO blog giveaways this week! Incredible!

On a family note - my mom came down and helped me take the kids in for Miss Em's 18 month check up. She is now 24lbs. and almost 31 inches long! That puts her in about the 46th percentile for weight and 24th percentile for height. Interestingly her good 'ole noggin (aka head) circumference was nealy 19 inches putting her in the 79th percentile. Must be all those numbers, letters and words she is cramming in there that is expanding her knowledge! Overall the doctor thinks she looks great and her hydronephrosis seems to be staying steady as of the last ultrasound, but we'll meet with the nephrologist in the middle of next month to see his thoughts on her condition. As part of her routine check up she did receive 3 vaccinations today and although we debated it heavily, I did end up having her get a seasonal flu shot today as well at her pediatrician's recommendation (not the H1N1). If any of you are reading this tonight - please pray for her as she has had a slight reaction it seems and her right thigh (the injection site) is red and swollen and seems to be quite painful for her. We called the advice nurse, gave her a warm bath then cold compresses (per the advice nurses recommendation) and she is resting peacefully so far tonight. Hopefully it will be all better tomorrow. I'm trying not to doubt myself and my decision tonight.

  1. Yay for winning giveaways! Miss Em is taller than Bailey!
I'm so sorry she is having a reaction to the flu vaccine. We were "strongly encouraged" by our dr as well to do the vaccine, but we opted out. Visit mercola.com for some good info on the vaccine. I believe the Lord protects no matter which decision we make. I'll be praying that her reaction is short-lived, and she is back to her bubbly self soon!!
