Weaned

Tomorrow I leave for the Women's Retreat and although I'm looking forward to it, going will be a tad bittersweet for me. You see tomorrow night will be the first time that I leave my precious Em overnight! Since she outright refused a bottle, mommy needed to always be near, but this week she has been weaned. Sad for mommy, but I think she's enjoying her warmed whole milk with a tad of Carnation Instant Breakfast (same as her brother required, neither would take plain milk). I will miss you Miss Em (and brother, Daddy, Callie & Ben of course)! Have a super fun weekend with Daddy and I'll see you on Sunday!

Since posts just aren't as fun without pictures - here are a few from the park today. Mommy was taking pictures of our friend Cooper since he'll be turning 1 in a couple of weeks and you enjoyed the sandbox (no surprise here) and swings.
McGee did not enjoy the park as much today, he mostly wanted Mommy to hold him the whole time (this DID NOT make taking pictures of Cooper very easy). You can see how happy McGee was when Mommy finally did put the camera down and hold him (and yes, we are wearing our new matching hats I found at the Children's Place Outlet - I just couldn't resist):

Love, Mommy

  1. Hmm, I might have to try the carnation. We tried weaning this week....with no luck. Lots of crying. And sleepless nights. I caved. :( But now I'm no cold medicine and she REALLY needs to wean. Praying you have a blessed weekend away and that you return home refreshed!

  3. Had a great weekend away and Miss Em did fantastic! The kids had a super time with Daddy, made me think I should go away more often.... :)

Heather - sure hope this week has gone much better for you! The Carnation has worked great in getting my kids to drink milk, and then after they start drinking it I cut back and eliminate adding it later.
