Not Me Monday

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog
to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.
I can't believe another week has passed so quickly! I guess I've been too busy not doing anything to notice how time flies.

Well this week I did not take the kids up camping by myself intending to sleep in a tent for the first time in about 5 years. It was not the kids first camping experience. Thankfully my aunt, uncle and cousins were there as well. I did not let me cousins talk us into sleeping in their insulated trailer to which McGee did not show his gratefulness at their sharing warm sleeping quarters by waking up screaming and crying about 4 times through the night. Oh and Miss Em didn't show she was grateful too by waking up crying 3 different times in the night. I'm sure they were glad we only stayed one night. Also there is no way I let little Miss Em eat unknown quantities of dirt while enjoying her crawling freedom in the great outdoors.
I did not eat 4 Eggo waffles with crunchy peanut butter and syrup all in one sitting because McGee decided he didn't want his. This is not one of my favorite breakfasts and was not my wedding day breakfast of choice.
There is no way I stayed up until 1 am TWICE this week shopping/researching camera lenses. That would be plain silly when I know my McGee and Miss Em will be waking me around 6 am!
To that end, I did not let my husband wake up at 6 am with the kids on his first day of vacation while I slept in.
Not a chance this still nursing mama drank some champagne, and enjoyed it, during the toasts at a wedding reception for an old childhood friend. Also no way that I tripped TWICE in a row at this reception in front of everyone while trying to take McGee to the restroom during the slideshow. Note: high heels and rocky, uneven terrain do not make a good pair.
Absolutely no way I told my husband I wanted 4 kids, only to recant hours later when both McGee and Em were crying at bedtime and my stress levels were elevated.
Finally, I did not get up early with the kids this morning so daddy could sleep in. I would never do that - sleep is just too sacred to me and I'm just not that unselfish. :)

  1. Camping will get better! :)
And I have done that same thing staying up way to late, checking into something on the computer, only to so regret it at 5:45am the next morning!
    Love the Eggos!
    Happy Not Me!

  3. I always regret staying up late but I'm not smart enough to learn from it. I love having alone time at night.

I have two kids too and am scared to think about how much harder it'll be with another one or two. I keep thinking that at least they'll be older and hopefully helpful with a new sibling
