Daddy's Day

We celebrated Father's Day yesterday with my parents, my in-laws and my brother and his new wife.  Everyone came over and we enjoyed some tasty, perfectly grilled steaks and delicious banana cream pie.  It was my dad's first out of town trip since his knee surgery and we all had a great time.  McGee, Uncle Mike and Daddy had fun playing with Uncle Mike's old legos - can you believe these legos are somewhere around 35 years old?!

Uncle Mike made a cool boat and the kids had fun riding Em's new trike

Happy Father's Day DAD!

To a guy who will do anything for anyone, gives more of himself to others than anyone I know, loves his grandchildren dearly, works harder than a workhorse, stands up for what is right, is stubborn and social (sounds like someone I know...me!), enjoys a good mystery (and figuring it out), is a fabulous photographer, an energizer bunny you tire me out and I'm more than 1/2 your age and a man who LOVES his family.  Thanks for being you and all you do for us!

Loves to ride bikes with McGee or do whatever else McGee wants

Cuddling with his grand-girls

To my HUSBAND - Happy Father's Day!

When I asked McGee what his favorite things to do with you were, these were his answers:

- color
- count
- go over my letters
- water the garden
- get dressed and go places with him
- play
- wrestle
- play with my toys
- read
- play roll and catch with the ball

He loves spending time with you and it's because you are such a great dad!  You're fun, patient, good at teaching him and most of all - you are FULL to the brim with love for our children!  They light up when you come home and they ask where you are all day when you're gone.  A teacher by profession, you are a natural leader and teacher in the home as well and the kids and I really appreciate that.  We love you so much and wish you a wonderful day!

If you are interested, Pioneer Woman has some interesting facts about Father's Day.  For instance, did you know that Father's Day is the busiest day of the year for collect phone calls?  Sad, but true.
