Not My Child Monday

I don't think MckMama is doing a Not Me post today, but I just have too much good stuff that DIDN'T go on here that I had to include a post on this holiday. Here goes...a combination Not Me! Monday with a Not MY Child! to boot! Enjoy. :)

Life is good here at the Bean home and my kids are alive and safe, regardless of what has NOT gone on in our home lately.

- I did NOT take pictures of many WRONG things that went on in our household this week and are documented below.

- My son did NOT grow impatient and decide to fix breakfast himself one morning while Mommy was changing his sister. Mommy did NOT come out to find this said breakfast included yogurt topped with canned whipping cream.

- I did NOT awaken one morning to glance over at my son and panic when I "saw" with my contact-and-glasses-free-vision, blood pouring down his arms in streams. I did NOT later realize once putting on my glasses that instead he had only "decorated" his arms with a fushia Sharpie he found in the office, the room that SHOULD have been locked (NOT my mistake). It did NOT take a few days of sudsy baths to finally clear all traces of fushia ink away from his skin.

- It WASN'T MY daughter who decided at 1 yr. old that she should be climbing ladders and helping clean the ceiling fan.

- As once again mom was rushing around and changing Miss Em to get her ready for our playdate, it WASN'T MY son who was practicing his bartending skills and decided to pour himself a very LARGE glass of milk and add, NOT one, but TWO packets of lemonade mix to it. He DID NOT say after taking a sip, "Mmm...I like it. It's not too spicy and I NEEDED to add lemons because I LOOOOVVVEE lemons! Yes, it's very tasty!"

- I did NOT check out from the library a Leapfrog reading computer and 4 books excited about this FREE new toy for McGee to enjoy. I did NOT scoff when Daddy asked that we take it back and just check out books because it would be expensive if we somehow broke the library's Leapfrog system. I was NOT entirely floored and outraged when I came back from putting Em down to bed to find that McGee, enjoying some earned "special computer time" because he put on his jammies and brushed teeth quickly, was busy NOT ripping to shreds the pages of one of the Leapfrog books borrowed from the library. (FYI: Daddy was not home, he was at Back to School Night and still working). There is NO WAY I considered not telling Daddy about the incident, NOT wanting to forgo the "I told you so" look I might receive. :) Oh and I DO NOT let my daughter sit on top of tables because she is NOT my perpetual climber and sometimes I DO NOT get exhausted from picking her up and putting her feet back on the ground.

- Absolutely NO chance in this completely child-proofed, organized house of ours that McGee found daddy's deoderant, put some on and said, "I smell like a daddy now." Nope, that DIDN'T happen here!
- I DIDN'T plan for a couple of months to have a garage sale this Saturday, begin to set up two tables full of stuff a couple of days in advance only to decide to postpone the sale for another month. Nope, I'm NOT the type of person that would do something like changing my mind at the last minute. Certainly NOT ME!
I hope you are enjoying this Labor Day and that you are relaxing much more than we have been around our home. God bless!
