Heartbreaker

Typically Miss Em is a beautiful ray of sunshine in our lives with her eye-crinkling and twinkling smiles and chubby cheeks. Lately, however, she has shown a different side:

This is a face we've been seeing recently at times when she is picked up away from mom. This is the face that has been breaking her daddy's heart. Seriously, she is the apple of her daddy's eye and has always had a special light that came into her eyes when daddy walked into the room, but the last week or so all she wants is mom on most days.

Last night after I nursed her, grandma had hoped to rock her a bit before we put her to bed and this is the face we saw each time grandma tried to hold her. I'm sure it broke grandma's heart as well.

Now Miss Em, I will admit it's always nice to be wanted, isn't being loved what everyone longs for in life? However, I do hope that this current "mommy-only" phase is over quickly because daddy really misses his cuddles with you. We love you sweet one!

P.S. If it is teething that is causing this recent change, then let me give you a tip that the biting you tried on me tonight is not going to fly! Keep it up and we'll have to force the bottle issue. :)
