My wonderful son just LOVES to sing! Since he was a baby he has shown a great love for music and now at 2 1/2 this love has turned to singing. It is just a joy to hear him singing throughout the day whatever song happens to come to mind and we can't get over how quickly he picks up the words. A couple of weeks ago we were listening to the radio in the car and it was a Christian rendition of some older soft rock song (PS - this is one of Kyle's biggest pet peeves, Christian artists trying to turn secular songs into Christian ones). Anyway I'm terrible at remembering artists or song titles, but the chorus goes a bit like this, "I'll stand by you, I'll stand by you, won't let nobody hurt you, I'll stand by you." I kid you not, 20 seconds after the song was over, my little McGee pipes up sweetly from the back singing the chorus word for word with the exact inflection, tone, beat - everything! It blew my mind and just made me smile.
Anyway - now onto my original reason for posting. Tonight at dinner Kyle, McGee and I were having pasta and little Miss Em was having some delicious Earth's Best peas. We had some terrific dinner conversation tonight and one of the conversations went like this:
McGee: Miss Em's eating peas! (excited and smiling inflection)
Mom: Yes she is. McGee do you like peas?
McGee: Yes I do. I like peace like a river, I like love like an ocean...(this is where he starts singing and daddy had to cut him off with a reminder that we don't sing at the dinner table). Can you believe we have to have a "no singing at the dining table" rule??
I love you my McGee! Daddy and I LOVE your singing and are so blessed each time you share your sweet voice. - Love, Mommy
we have that same rule :) I'm always amazed to see our girls singing worship songs too - they soak it all up!
