Our Big Boy

Photobucket

My Dearest McGee,

Today you are exactly 3 1/2 years old and cliche or not, I can't believe how fast the time has flown by! Although you'll always be my baby boy, now you are a boy who sleeps in a big boy bed, wears underwear, dresses himself, completes chores, nurtures your baby sister and the dogs, teaches things to others, counts to 20+, spells his own name and sometimes his sister's, gives driving directions and reminds mom about the laws of speeding and talking on cell phones while driving, has a plan for everything, can ride a bike and rides his own scooter, throws and hits his own wiffle ball with the bat, runs lightning fast, summersaults, digs, sweeps, sorts and crushes recycling items, sings whole songs, recognizes different genres of music, can pour his own milk in the morning and fix his own snack (not that you're allowed to) and has a never-ending list of questions about everything!

Wearing size 7 shoes, 2T pants and 3T tops, and weighing about 26 lbs., you may be small in stature but are HUGE in love and wit. Your tender-heart always amazes me and your forgiving spirit I truly appreciate (yep - mom makes mistakes too). Actually you sometimes tell me, "Mommy, you made a mistake," and even though I may be half paying attention at first, when my attention does come back to what you are saying it always turns out you are right. Lately your interest in the arts has grown and you regularly enjoy coloring, painting and playing with play dough. Similarly your interest in ball throwing really took off this summer and baseball and football seem to be your preferred sports so far (but I'm not ruling soccer out yet). Cars and all things that "go" still seem to top your interest and you can't WAIT until you can drive all by yourself. Second to cars would be your love of music. Some of my favorite moments are listening to you singing to yourself, "Our God is an Awesome God", "Honey In the Rock", and various Sesame Street songs have been your favorites lately.

The many faces of McGee:

  1. Ok--at some point your blog changed and I didn't follow you...but now I've found you again! I didn't know your address was beansblessings...cute! My dad called me Corrina Beana growing up :) And Roger was Bean because he is Mexican and his friends called him Bean or Beaner. Wow...Miss Rose was 26lbs at like 14months old! She's my amazon though. I love the site and the background you chose.
